Spider-Man’s identity was revealed to the world in the mid-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home, but before that, there were many characters who already knew Peter Parker is Spider-Man. The Marvel Cinematic Universe reached its highest point with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which brought together all the current superheroes to fight against Thanos, reverse the snap, and defeat him and his armies for good.

The first three phases of the MCU, collectively known as the Infinity Saga, came to an end with Spider-Man: Far From Home, which gave the audience a glimpse at the world post-final snap and without Iron Man. Spider-Man’s second solo film saw Peter Parker dealing with the (emotional) aftermath of the Battle of Earth and Iron Man’s death, as well as with a new threat: Quentin Beck a.k.a. Mysterio, who made everyone believe he came from another dimension to save this Earth from the Elementals. Beck turned out to be a former Stark Industries employee who had a whole team in charge of creating complex illusions with the help of weaponized drones.

Spider-Man defeated Mysterio, but Beck had one final trick up his sleeve, and set Spider-Man up by making it seem like the web-slinger was the real menace and the one who killed him, and so he revealed the hero’s identity – and to make it all more theatrical, he sent the videos to The Daily Bugle, with J. Jonah Jameson exposing Peter’s alter-ego to the world. However, before that big reveal, many other characters knew Spider-Man is Peter Parker, including a couple of Avengers.

Tony Stark/Iron Man – Captain America: Civil War

Spider-Man Homecoming Tony Stark Peter Parker

Peter Parker made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War and it was thanks to Tony Stark. Footage of Spider-Man’s heroic acts were posted online and caught the attention of Stark, who approached Peter to invite him to come to Germany with him and the rest of Team Iron Man to confront Captain America. Tony went on to become Spidey’s mentor and a father figure to young Peter.

Happy Hogan – Captain America: Civil War

Of course, Tony’s close friend and right-hand Happy Hogan knew Peter is Spider-Man from the beginning. Once Tony convinced Peter to go to Germany, Happy was tasked with escorting the young hero, with Happy quickly being annoyed by a very excited Peter. Happy and Peter ended up becoming good friends, and Happy even dated Aunt May for a while.

Ned Leeds – Spider-Man: Homecoming

Peter’s best friend Ned Leeds found out when he saw Spider-Man crawling into Peter’s bedroom. Though Peter insisted he’s not Spider-Man, there was obviously no way of convincing Ned, who asked him if he was a member of the Avengers after learning Tony Stark made his suit. Ned promised to keep the secret, and has done so ever since.

Adrian Toomes/Vulture – Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man: Homecoming had Adrian Toomes a.k.a. Vulture as villain, who deduced who Spider-Man really is in a very awkward moment for young Peter. Toomes turned out to be the father of Peter’s crush/party date Liz Toomes, and after recognizing his voice and piecing together some events mentioned by Liz, he realized that his daughter’s date was none other than Spider-Man. Toomes gave Peter one final warning that if he continued to pursue him, he would kill him and everyone he loved. Toomes ended up in jail, where he was asked about Spider-Man’s real identity, denying all knowledge of it.

Aunt May – Spider-Man: Homecoming

Peter spent a big part of Spider-Man: Homecoming trying to keep the secret from Aunt May for her protection, but she ended up finding out by mere accident. Right at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, when Peter was trying the new suit Tony Stark sent him, Aunt May came in and found him in full Spider-Man costume. Spider-Man: Far From Home showed that Aunt May was very supportive of Peter’s superhero side and helped him in every way she could.

Doctor Strange – Avengers: Infinity War

In Avengers: Infinity War, Spider-Man met Doctor Strange, and when introducing himself, he did so as Peter Parker, but when the Sorcerer Supreme referred to himself as Doctor Strange, Peter thought they were “using their made-up names”, and re-introduced himself as Spider-Man. It was a fun moment for viewers, but not so much for Doctor Strange.

Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel – Avengers: Endgame

Avengers Endgame A-Force Captain Marvel

When the Hulk reversed Thanos’ snap in Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man and the rest of the heroes that vanished in Infinity War joined the surviving ones to fight Thanos and his armies. When trying to protect the Nano Gauntlet and keeping it away from Thanos, Spider-Man took cover after Thanos’ ship began to shoot. Not long after, Captain Marvel landed in front of him, and he introduced himself before handing her the Gauntlet.

Michelle “MJ” Jones – Spider-Man: Far From Home

Michelle’s keen observation in Spider-Man: Homecoming and the events in Far From Home helped her piece together the truth about Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Just like he did with Ned, Peter tried to deny it, but obviously didn’t succeed. This helped their relationship grow, and Michelle witnessed the reveal of Spider-Man’s identity through The Daily Bugle.

Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Talos, Soren, and company – Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man Far From Home Nick Fury Maria Hill

Though they were both present at Tony Stark’s funeral, the audience first saw Peter interacting with Nick Fury in Far From Home. Fury was there to talk to him about the Elementals’ attacks and the arrival of Mysterio, who was posing as a hero from another dimension. Fury took Peter to the hideout, where the latter was told to remove the mask as everyone there had already seen him without it. However, these weren’t the real Fury and Maria Hill, but Talos and Soren, Captain Marvel’s Skrull allies. Still, Fury and Hill surely know Peter Parker is Spider-Man, as they keep a close eye on all the Avengers.

Quentin Beck/Mysterio – Spider-Man: Far From Home

In that same scene where Fury and Spider-Man arrived to the hideout and Spidey was asked to take his mask off, he met Mysterio. The supposed hero from another dimension that arrived to fight the Elementals turned out to be a former Stark Industries employee looking for revenge, and he was aware of Spider-Man’s real identity from the beginning. Beck used this for one final trick, where he framed Spider-Man for the Battle of London and more, and exposed his identity to the whole world – something the young hero will have to deal with in Spider-Man: Homecoming 3.
