Before Capcom released their first Marvel fighting game in 1994, they released a side-scrolling beat ‘em up game in 1993 that started it all: The Punisher arcade game! While that momentous game has lived in the shadows of obscurity for many years now, Hasbro is stepping in to celebrate the inaugural Marvel x Capcom collaboration: the GamerVerse Marvel Legends Punisher & Nick Fury figures pack is now up for order!

Waltzing around in Metro City and kicking hoodlum ass with Guy in Final Fight was one of my favorite arcade pastimes as a youngin, so Capcom immediately had my attention when they released The Punisher in arcades a few years after Final Fight.

The Punisher game didn’t transition splendidly to the SEGA Genesis and has somewhat fallen out of the mainstream in the last 3 decades, but my ears still perked up the moment Hasbro announced this two-pack based on the classic video game.

What we’re getting in this set is essentially *exactly* what you might think: modern, pin-less 6” action figures of Punisher and Nick Fury in their Ivery video game colored costumes, with a whole smorgasbord of guns and related accessories.

After getting so many Nick Fury figures in black and dark blue, it’s really quite refreshing to get the sometimes-Director of SHIELD in more earthy colored, army-looking attire. I’m also a big fan of blue-grey Punisher, matching how he looked in the old video games and classic comic books.

Frank has a scowling face by default, and an interchangeable aggro head with teeth gritted to change things up if you so choose. Nick Fury has just one portrait, but it looks ideally suited for adding a custom stogie to. I think all the heads are one of this pack’s strengths.

We’re unlikely to ever see these specific versions of the heroes released again, so I’m glad Hasbro has utilized seamless, pin-free bodies so that they’ll look modern for many years to come. Making Marvel Legends pin-free has improved the aesthetic of the line many-fold, in my opinion.

The spread of accessories is generous and impressive, including 6 guns, 8 extra hands, a briefcase with money, an explosion effects piece, a baseball bat and more. There’s just so many display options for this two-pack that it’s wild.

A Punisher Video Game set was absolutely was not on my radar for Marvel Legends 2025, but I have to admit I’m quite exuberant with what Hasbro has done with the content and presentation of this pack. The $60ish price-tag definitely stings, but it doesn’t feel like highway robbery or anything when you see the sheer amount of stuff included in this pack at least.

The Marvel Legends Punisher GamerVerse two-pack is now up for order and shipping out this winter in just a few months. Punisher toys always sell like wildfire, so I expect this uniquely themed pair to sell pretty strongly. It’s a Fan Channel/Amazon exclusive, so it shan’t be in Walmart or Target stores.
