Christmas at the Kringles

The Kringles are officially on the naughty list.

Christmas at the Kringles, the holiday horror-comedy from Kevin Lewis (Willy’s Wonderland), has received an R rating for “some strong bloody violence, language, and some sexual material.”

Briarcliff Entertainment brings the film to theaters October 30, just in time to crash Halloween with some Christmas carnage.

As we noted when the full trailer arrived last week, this one comes bearing chainsaws, bondage, and a severed head repurposed as a Christmas tree topper. The rating certainly fits the decorations.

Written by Zack Imbrogno (Slayers), the film follows the Severson family as they move into a suburban neighborhood beside the Kringles, who celebrate Christmas year-round. Their holiday obsession turns sinister when Mark discovers plans to hypnotize and indoctrinate his family, forcing him to join forces with a rogue Santa to save them.

Thomas Lennon (Hell Baby) stars alongside Ron Livingston (The Conjuring), Rachel Bilson, Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street), Arden Myrin (Satanic Panic), Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation), and Donald Faison (Idle Hands).

Nothing like meeting the neighbors and immediately needing a chainsaw.
