Marvel Legends Reissues: Rictor Domino Cannonball & Cel-Shaded Spider-Man!

Hasbro has been riding the Marvel Legends reissue train the past several weeks, bringing back a number of highly demanded Retro Spider-Man villains like Mysterio, Venom and Lizard. And this week, 4 more previously exclusive Marvel Legends fans have been asking for are making a limited comeback: the Marvel Legends Rictor/Domino/Cannonball  X-Force 3-pack and Retro Animated Spider-Man figure are now up for order from select Fan Channel websites!

It was back in 2021 that Hasbro released a 3-pack crucial to building the iconic 90s X-Force team, a Disney Store exclusive that included key characters like Rictor (his only 6” figure ever made), Domino (in her blue and purple costume that Toybiz made a 5” figure of) and even a Cannonball figure WITH LEGS (unlike the controversial leg-less blasting Cannonball I reviewed in 2019). Don’t worry–the blast effect lower body is also included as an acessory here in case that’s how you want to display Sam!

Unfortunately, when this X-Force set went up for sale exclusively on the Disney Store website, it turned out to be a fiasco. Disney Store ran out of stock much faster than fans expected, orders were cancelled, prices exploded on the aftermarket and there was never a restock… until now, half a decade later.

I definitely don’t believe that these figures are perfect–Cannonball, Domino  and Rictor don’t even feature fully pin-less articulation–but these are crucial characters to complete the team that I genuinely can’t see Hasbro updating in X-Force costumes anytime soon (although a young New Mutants Cannonball definitely seems inevitable right now).

I missed this Disney Store Marvel Legends X-Force 3-pack myself the first go-around due to stock issues, and I won’t do so again. With Feral and Siryn now released, Rictor will finally complete my long-term build of X-Force. Thanks, Hasbro!

Meanwhile, Hasbro is also doing a fresh run of a figure that will complement all those recent Spidey villain re-releases perfectly: the returning cel-shaded Spider-Man figure based on his cartoon look.

This was first released in 2023 as a Walmart exclusive, but was another instance of supply not meeting demand. Aftermarket prices have been north of 50 bucks shipped, so it’s nice to have another crack at cel-shaded Spidey for MSRP.

The Marvel Legends X-Force 3-pack and Cel-Shaded Spider-Man reissues are now up for order and arriving on collectors’ doorsteps this winter. These are fan channel exclusives, meaning they shouldn’t be available at Target, Walmart or Amazon.
