Whatever your thoughts on House of the Dragon‘s Season 3 finale, there’s no question that it’s given Game of Thrones fans plenty to talk about as we wait for the show’s fourth and final season to arrive. The series finally killed off some of its most beloved characters, and despite Fire & Blood readers already knowing what was coming at Tumbleton, the show managed to surprise everyone with some major divergences from the original source material.

While certain decisions across Season 3 were quite divisive for fans of George R.R. Martin’s original work, there’s little debate as to some of the stellar performances, such as Tom Glynn-Carney’s amazing Aegon II reunion with Sunfyre, Abubakar Salim’s show-stopping portrayal of Alyn of Hull, and of course the triumphant return of a fan-favorite GoT veteran, Jefferson Hall as the infamous Tyland Lannister.

And if you’re looking to get better acquainted with Tyland as we wait to learn his fate in the final season, there’s a brand-new Game of Thrones release titled The Golden Strategist that will give fans an up-close-and-personal look at the legendary character (via GoTL).

The Golden Strategist is a newly announced Proving Grounds event available for Game of Thrones: Legends players right now as part of Tyland Lannister’s official launch as a Legendary Champion to the game’s growing roster. Tyland was added to the roster earlier last week, with several unique features, such as the “Wrestle for Me” skill, the “Born to Endure” trait, and the “This is Why Men Wage War” leader ability.

The Golden Strategist itself is a unique new Proving Grounds, which serve as both a tutorial and time-limited challenges in Game of Thrones: Legends designed around specific Champions, allowing players to learn how to new characters in action. The event runs from August 12 to August 21, and is designed primarily to teach players how to use Tyland’s unique Treasury and Birthright mechanics.

Also included as Tyland’s roll-out is The Royal Treasury summon, which is available until September 4, and will require Exalted Tokens to unlock. For the uninitiated, Summons serve as the game’s system for spending special tokens to obtain Champion shards, letting you unlock new Champions or upgrade ones you already have.

If you haven’t had a chance to play Game of Thrones: Legends yet, it’s a hugely popular mobile match-3 puzzle RPG from Zynga that was first released back in 2024. It’s among the top-rated and downloaded games on both the App Store and Google Play, and it features tie-ins from across HBO’s entire catalog of Game of Thrones-related series.
