Around iHorror, it’s always spooky season, but Halloween Horror Nights makes it official. 🎃

Universal Studios is bringing the scares back for 2026 with a terrifying lineup of haunted houses, scare zones, and more at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood.

HHN 2026 will feature haunted houses based on Sinners, Evil Dead Burn, Hellraiser, Killceañera, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Ozzy Osbourne, and Stranger Things 5, alongside additional original attractions. Let’s take a peek at a few of the haunted attractions we can expect this Fall.

Sinners

In 2025, Sinners proved to everyone that vampires are still cool (and as tricky as ever!) With a 97% from critics and a 96% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s no surprise that this film took home multiple Golden Globes and numerous other awards. Universal Studios hopes to capitalize on this magic with one of its newest haunted houses.

Per Universal’s site, “The blues become red when bloodthirsty vampires pierce the veil and crash the party in this haunted house based on the hit film, Sinners.”

Evil Dead Burn

The Evil Dead franchise started in 1981 with The Evil Dead, a manic horror film that makes up for its low budget with Sam Raimi’s aggressive filmmaking style, rapid camera movement, odd angles, disturbing practical effects, and an ever-intensifying stream of over-the-top violence. Its success, spurred on by Stephen King’s praise of the film, spawned Evil Dead II (1987), Army of Darkness (1992), Evil Dead (2013), Evil Dead Rise (2023), and Evil Dead Burn (2026).

Universal says, “An infernal force has taken hold of a family home, and it’s hungry for its next victim. Dodge Deadites hell-bent on bloodshed in this haunted house based on the new film, Evil Dead Burn.”

Hellraiser

Most horror movies have one thing in common: something evil is happening. A killer is trying to murder, a monster is trying to hunt, or a demon is trying to possess. Hellraiser, the brainchild of Clive Barker, complicates that formula by asking a stranger question: “What if a man just wanted to feel pleasure — and actually got it.” The movie proceeds to show us that once-human creatures called “Cenobites” pursued pleasure to its very end, finding it indistinguishable from pain.

Universal touts, “In this haunted house based on the original Hellraiser trilogy, enter a realm of pure pain where Pinhead and his tormented Cenobites derive their hellish pleasure.”

Killceañera

The quinceañera is a Latin American tradition marking a girl’s 15th birthday and her transition from childhood to womanhood. What happens when a girl uses her quinceañera to summon evil forces and punish those who bullied her? To find out, you’ll have to go to Halloween Horror Nights!

According to Universal, “In this haunted house featuring music by Slash, a vengeful birthday girl summons malevolent spirits to her quinceañera to exact monstrous vengeance on school bullies.”

Killer Klowns From Outer Space

I vividly remember the first time I watched Killer Klowns From Outer Space. It was your typical alien invasion movie, except everything — and I mean everything — was clownified. The space ship was an enormous circus tent, the guns were a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors, and humans were stored in cotton candy-like cocoons. Released in 1988, KKFOS’s cult success grew gradually over the following decades. Horror fans passed the movie around while the cheap costs of broadcasting on cable ensured a slow but steady rise in new fans. In 2018, it finally found its way to the Universal Studios lot for Halloween Horror Nights.

According to Universal, “In this haunted house based on Killer Klowns from Outer Space, try not to become the cotton candy-covered snack of some seriously unfriendly visitors from worlds unknown.”

Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness

Just over a year ago on July 22, 2025, Ozzy Osbourne died following a heart attack at age 76. He left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten: he was a pioneer in heavy metal music, cofounded Black Sabbath, and sold over 100 million albums across his career. This haunted house pays homage to Osbourne, the aptly named “Prince of Darkness“.

Universal says, “You’re in Ozzy’s world now. Bow at the throne of the Prince of Darkness in this haunted house inspired by the twisted mind of one of rock ‘n’ roll’s greatest
legends.”

Stranger Things 5

Whatever you think about how Stranger Things ended, there can be no doubt that this show became a cultural phenomenon. It follows a group of kids in the 1980s who encounter strange supernatural phenomena and secretive government conspiracies. Now Universal is bringing its final chapter to HHN, with Vecna, Demogorgons, and the Mind Flayer all making appearances.

Per Universal, “Join the Hawkins gang for one last adventure. Try to survive an army of Demogorgons, face the Mind Flayer and defeat Vecna once and for all in this haunted house based on Stranger Things 5.”

Bonus: Terror Tram

While not technically a haunted house, guests can expect to be thrilled and frightened by Art the Clown in this holiday-themed exhibition. Fans may recognize Art as the silent-but-deadly mime from the Terrifier franchise (which recently released its third movie). Art’s animated facial expressions, unpredictability, and penchant for extreme gore and violence set him apart from other iconic slashers. Unfortunately for folks in Orlando, this exhibit will be exclusive to the Hollywood location.

Per Universal, “Art the Clown arrives on the Backlot with his bloody bag of presents in tow. But when he realizes he’s too early for Christmas, he hijacks the Terror Tram for his own ho-ho-horrific holiday tradition.”

With so many options inspired by blockbuster movies and horror icons, this year’s Halloween Horror Nights is shaping up to be many a horror fan’s dream nightmare.

Halloween Horror Nights starts August 28th at the Orlando location and September 3rd in Hollywood. Both run through November 1st. Get your tickets for Hollywood or Orlando here.
