EXCLUSIVE: Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is now available on digital, giving horror fans a chance to see the Evil Dead Rise filmmaker’s latest franchise reinvention at home.
While speaking with Dread Central in support of The Mummy, Lee Cronin also addressed whether he would ever return to the Evil Dead franchise. Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise became a major win for the series in 2023, earning strong reviews and bringing in $147 million worldwide. Since then, the franchise has continued forward with two new installments set for 2026 and 2028: Evil Dead Burn, directed by Sébastien Vaniček, and Evil Dead Wrath, directed by Francis Galluppi.

While the filmmaker passed down the chance to direct Evil Dead Burn, never say never to what the future of the franchise may hold. When asked if he would ever go back and make another Evil Dead movie, Cronin did not close the door.
“Absolutely,” Cronin told Dread Central. “They’re the best fun, they’re crazy, they’re crazy, but there’s two other really talented filmmakers out there that are making the movies now, and I’m excited to see how the world will receive them. But if Sam [Raimi] gave me a call and was like, ‘Hey man, what about…’ That’s a conversation I’m gonna have, because it’s a hell of a lot of fun.”

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is now available on digital. A physical release will arrive July 14 on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats.
