Last night (July 30), Justin Timberlake played the final show of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. In a statement shared on social media, the pop star reflected on the tour and also revealed that he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. “If you’ve experienced this disease or know someone who has — then you’re aware: living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically,” he wrote. “When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness.”

“I was faced with a personal decision. Stop touring? Or, keep going and figure it out,” Timberlake continued. “I decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I’m so glad I kept going.”

Timberlake began his tour in April 2024, shortly after the release of his comeback album Everything I Thought It Was, and the 15-month endeavor saw him play over 100 shows. The musician dealt with health issues throughout the trek, postponing and canceling concerts due to the flu, a back injury, and bronchitis and laryngitis. In his new statement, Timberlake called the tour “the most fun, emotional, gratifying, physically demanding, and, at times, grueling experience.”
