“Dead By Dawn – Part 04”

The chase is on! With movie night ruined by Ed “X” and his vampire biker gang, Charlie Brewster and friends retreat back to Peter Vincent’s apartment. There Peter’s publicist Danny reveals a major secret. Just how deep does the rabbit hole go? Werewolves are from bars, Vampires are from Egypt?!

As the team of makeshift Vampire hunters debate their next move an old friend crashes through the living room window. Surprise, surprise, you’re all dead! But not so fast, Eddie, your old master is planning a reunion tour. Time for a little Fanger on Fanger action as the good guys fight for their very lives.

Just how old is Elaha the Vampire Queen? What the heck is the Blood Cursed? Will “Evil” Ed Thompson team up with the man who put a stake through his heart? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

You can say one thing about American Mythology Productions, they are slow to put out books, but they are consistent. Gen-X’ers rejoice as issue number four of Tom Holland’s Fright Night has arrived. This time we get the elusive backstory of the Vampire Queen.

I’ve been waiting to confirm my suspicions that Elaha was Jerry Dandrige’s sister. This is clearly not the case here. With Elaha’s origins out of the way the American Mythology has a small window to explain how Charlie and Peter don’t remember the events of this series before Fight Night II takes place.

I did enjoy this one and the monster art was a fun homage to the original movie. I’m giving issue four of Fright Night four out of five stars. Now bring us home Tom Holland; bring us home!
