Reunions are at the heart of every great sequel. Seeing your favorite characters come together for another misadventure is a very magical thing, only very rarely do storytellers ever warrant another go-around. Especially when it comes to horror. More often than not, the sequel completely fumbles what made this cadre of characters special in the first place.

Scream 2 is not that kind of movie.

Today, you can reunite with the Halloweenies as they continue their coverage of Wes Craven‘s 1997 blockbuster sequel. Return to Windsor campus with Justin Gerber, Mike Vanderbilt, Michael Roffman, and special guest Lara Unnerstall of Psychoanalysis: A Horror Therapy Podcast as they hit up the AV hall and run some tapes together.

In the second of two episodes dedicated to Scream 2, the fearless foursome discuss the film’s eclectic A-list cast, the left hook twist that hearkens back to another iconic franchise, the jaw-dropping death that shook the genre, Kevin Williamson’s commentary on the horror sequel, and whether or not the copycat subplot ever pays off (it doesn’t).

So, grab that box of Dunkin Donuts, try to avoid the blood in the back of the news van, and join the gang now via iTunes/Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, RadioPublic, Acast, Google Podcasts, and RSS. For those of you who missed the first part of the series, head here to catch up.

New to the Halloweenies? Catch up with the gang by revisiting their essential episodes on past franchises such as Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Friday the 13th. You can also become a member of their Patreon for hilarious commentaries and one-off episodes.
