The new digital-first series Let Them Live! will be debuting on the DC Universe Infinite platform from DC Comics and features previously unpublished stories. These archived stories will be plucked from DC’s previously unreleased library, featuring fan-favorite characters surrounded by a fictional narrative framing device. This will be the first of many original titles to appear on DC Universe Infinite, a relatively new platform.

DC Universe Infinite is a comic book streaming service catered to fans that launched in January 2021. Serving as a successor to the failed DC Universe subscription service from 2018, DC Universe Infinite boasts over 25,000 digital comics and graphic novels, meaning this service houses the largest collection of DC Comics available to fans. Books available through this service include some collections from DC’s iconic imprints, from Vertigo to DC Black Label to Milestone Media, with new comics added six months after their release in stores.

Minor details about the first three issues of Let Them Live! have been released by DC Comics, which will all be released digitally-first on the DC Universe Infinite platform and, after 30 days, will be released on ComiXology and other participating digital platforms. The first issue features a Suicide Squad story by Jim Zub, Tradd Moore, Felipe Sobreiro, and Nate Piekos, which will debut on February 2, 2021. The second issue has a Nightwing story by Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, Jorge Corona, Mat Lopes, and Carlos M. Mangual, releasing on February 16, 2021. The third issue, which includes is a Batman story by Scott Bryan Wilson, John Paul Leon, Dave Stewart, and Deron Bennet, will release on March 2, 2021.

All three issues will include a frame story by Elliott Kalan, Mike Norton, and Marissa Louise. This brand-new bonus content created specifically for Let Them Live! serves as a reintroduction to one of DC’s oddball characters, Ambush Bug. He introduces each story while he works as a janitor in DC’s offices. Screenwriter Elliott Kalan, who is one of the writers behind the Mystery Science Theater 3000 revival, will be penning the fourth-wall-breaking bug.

This seems to be a promising first-original offering from DC Universe Infinite and may serve as an early example of what the DC Universe Infinite streaming service is capable of producing. Readers also get some comedy from Ambush Bug, who feels like a self-aware, Deadpool-esque narrator here, written by the former head writer for The Daily Show (back in the Jon Stewart days), which seems to bode well for his comedic credibility. So, check out Let Them Live! as it releases on the DC Universe Infinite platform or wait for it to release on ComiXology and other digital platforms on a bi-weekly basis.
