In the Beta for Marvel’s Avengers, players initially start by getting a taste of a few characters, and one Avenger that gets used right off the hop is Hulk. Hulk is a bruiser, of course, and a lot of his damage happens with his fists. He’s got some powerful moves that will not only damage to one target but multiple ones at the same time. It can take some getting used to with all the chaos going on at the same time, but there are a few methods that can get players through.

In Marvel’s Avengers, there are two bars at the top center of the screen that players need to pay close attention to. The top bar is the player’s health, called Willpower, and the bottom bar is their energy, and in Hulk’s case, it’s called Rage. Hulk’s real power in Marvel’s Avengers comes from this Rage meter that, when used, gives him 15% more damage to targets. When used, it can regenerate his health when he gets successful attacks on enemies giving him even more reason to swing away.

Best Skills for Hulk in Marvel’s Avengers Beta

Hulk’s best skills are going to come down to doing damage quickly and to multiple targets at a time. He has all of his regular skills and his Heroic Skills as well. As for his normal skills, using charging attacks to get to the opponent quickly is going to serve him well to close distances. Aerial attacks are another way Hulk can close the gap and get in close, and the Air Spike is a great tactic he can use. A good combo that Hulk can do is launch a Battering Ram skill attack, to get to a group of enemies, stagger them, and then follow it up with either an Air Spike or Heroic Thunderclap. These initial skills are useful and can be upgraded to the Ram Reinforcement to do even more damage later on. A problem that comes across during gameplay is using skills like Tectonic Fury that can take a long time to charge up, risking getting interrupted or getting hurt. Unbearable Might is also a useful skill because it’s using the Rage bar to get extra damage out of the Hulk another 20%.

Tips for Playing with Hulk in Marvel’s Avengers Beta

Marvel's Avengers Hulk Gear

Along with the skills, upgrading Hulk equipment, if it can be called that, is going to be huge for keeping Hulk as a threat. Each character has four gear and artifact slots that can boost the stats of each character, and Hulk’s are no exception. The least important statistic is going to be the Ranged Rating because Hulk is a melee character and his range attacks do less damage than when he gets in close. Here is where getting the right gear makes a difference as well. Gear will have extra abilities such as more damage with melee combos or more damage when doing finishers which can change players’ approach to Hulk. A feature that the developers added in this Beta is the ability to add companions to round out the team if playing solo. Bringing companions into missions is extremely useful as they are an extra source of both damage and distraction. Another note on the Beta that should help is to explore each location thoroughly as boxes are hidden everywhere along with puzzles to open rooms with chests. These chests are valuable in the Beta as they give extra enhancements or materials to boost equipment or giving abilities and power. Last but not least, pound everything in sight, if players are going to use the Hulk, destroying everything possible is the only logical solution.
