This year Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld features their first movie inspired house!

Competition in Central Florida is fierce when it comes to Halloween attractions. Ranging from theme parks to independent haunts, there is something for everyone. Additionally, there is a wide range of admission prices for an array of budgets.

SeaWorld’s Howl-O-Scream has always fallen into the middle of Florida based Halloween attractions. They have been overshadowed by Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. Yet they play big brother to smaller, yet equally passionate, independently run events, including Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail in Plant City, FL. However, this year SeaWorld has decided to up their game! Howl-O-Scream is presenting their first movie based haunted house; I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch.

The revenge seeking Fisherman in 1997’s I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Howl-O-Scream Brings IKWYDLS to Life!

The attraction is based on the 1997 horror movie featuring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. The film went on to spawn two sequels as well as a legacy follow up of the same name. A 2021 television show even released eight episodes before it was given the axe… rather, hook.

The movie choice is very fitting for the ocean centered theme park, as the plot revolves around the small coastal town of Sourthport. Four teenagers are stalked by an unknown killer dressed as a fisherman who uses a hook to dispatch them. He is hellbent on taking them out one by one as revenge for a deadly car accident they tried to cover up the previous summer.

Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillipe in I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997).

Howl-O-Scream’s website describes the attraction as;

“The secret is out. The Fisherman is waiting. Step inside the world of I Know What You Did Last Summer in an all-new haunted house where the Fisherman stalks your every move. Journey through the seaside town of Southport as the horrifying events of that fateful summer come back to life- and discover whether you’ll make it out before the killer catches up to you.”

SeaWorld’s Howl-O-Scream will be featuring I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch in all three of their theme parks in Orlando, San Diego, and San Antonio. The event runs on select nights September 11 – October 31, 2026. You will need an additional ticket to attend.

Will you be able to escape the Fisherman as you make your way through the maze? What do you think of SeaWorld’s decision to include a horror movie centered house?
