The Choose Your Own Adventure series is getting an imprint for adults. CYOA Unbound will be the first imprint “dedicated to publishing nonlinear, multiple-ending gamebooks for adults.” The inaugural lineup, out fall 2027, includes:
CYOA Unbound will publish titles that span genres and categories like reimagined classics, horror, mysteries, thrillers, and romance. Launched by one of the most well-known makers of gamebooks, Chooseco has 270 million copies in print across 40 languages.
“It’s been a long time coming,” Chooseco Publisher & CEO Shannon Gilligan said in a press release. “We have been interested in moving into the adult space since our inception, but we were waiting for the right moment and more importantly, the right books. This inaugural list not only reflects our interests—along with immense reader feedback—, but each title works beautifully in the interactive format.”
