Physical media is fighting back.
A haunted DVD turns movie night into a creature-filled nightmare in Dead Media, the feature debut from writer/director Joseph Scrimshaw, executive produced by Joe Lynch (Suitable Flesh, Mayhem).
The trailer introduces Maggie, a troubled young woman settling in for a movie with her two best friends. Their selection? A long-lost ’90s cult horror film called Night of the Lurchers.
Before they get far into streaming it, Maggie’s horror-obsessed uncle arrives with a DVD, determined to give them the full experience, bonus features and all. Unfortunately, the disc is haunted, and the movie’s horrors start materializing in their living room.
Billed as both a creature feature and a love letter to DVD extras, Dead Media is currently on a theatrical roadshow with Scrimshaw attending the screenings.
