EXCLUSIVE: If movies like Fall make your palms sweat, you’ll want to keep an eye on Zip Wire.
Dread Central is exclusively debuting the first trailer for the upcoming survival thriller ahead of its World Premiere at FrightFest in London on August 30.
Directed by Howard J. Ford (The Dead) and written by Tom Boyle (The Ledge), Zip Wire promises a deadly game of cat-and-mouse high above the breathtaking – and unforgiving – Dolomite Mountains.

In the film:
When her groundbreaking pharmaceutical discovery is stolen and her partner is murdered, researcher Amy must face her fear of heights to escape nefarious attackers, with the only path to salvation being a treacherous aerial runway. To outsmart the mysterious hostiles, she has to summon every ounce of courage to protect the world-changing scientific discovery—and herself—before it’s too late.
The film stars MyAnna Buring (The Descent), Joseph Millson (Casino Royale), Saffron Burrows (Deep Blue Sea), Silvia Presente (Outlander), and Michael Amariah (Ghosts).
Judging by the trailer, Zip Wire embraces its high-concept premise with plenty of suspense and practical thrills. While it has the feel of a lean, low-budget genre film, it also taps into the same fear of extreme heights that made Fall such an unexpected hit. The setup is a little different, however, replacing a stranded radio tower with a perilous network of zip lines as armed pursuers close in from all sides.
With Fall 2 also on the horizon, it’s fun to see another filmmaker finding a fresh way to turn dizzying heights into a full-blown survival thriller.
Following its FrightFest premiere on August 30, Zip Wire arrives on Digital HD beginning August 31, followed by a DVD release on September 7 from Signature Entertainment.
