Anthony C. Ferrante struck gold with his franchise, Sharknado. The series spawned five follow ups, with a seventh in the works. Instead of another sequel, this will be a prequel titled Sharknado Origins, with Ferrante back at the helm.
However, if you can’t wait for the newest Sharknado movie, iHorror has your fix. The Father of Sharks has another movie that has just been released; Water Park Shark.

The new movie is in the same vein as the classic that made Ferrante a household name. However, sharks are not raining down on Los Angeles and other major metropolitan cities. Great Whites are now on the loose in a Cape Cod water park. And this time, they are mutated!
Shark in the Pool!
Summer is just beginning at Wicked Waves water park in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. For washed up football player Austin Dillard (Matthew Dame), his return home in need of a job looks bleak. Fortunately for him, his prior high school football coach is giving him a second chance as a lifeguard at Wicked Waves. Unfortunately for Dillard, children peeing in the pool will be the least of his problems this season.
Dillard’s old high school flame Peyton (Chelsea Gilson) is the new police chief in the summer town. Having been passed the torch from her father, she takes her job very seriously. So when a mutated shark is found in the water park, she makes it her mission to investigate the occurrence and protect her citizens.

Little does Peyton know, she bit off more than she can chew in this investigation. If she is going to solve how these mutated sharks entered the water park and are killing swimmers, she will need to recruit the help of the misfit staff of lifeguards on duty.

It may have seemed like an impossible feat to beat the craziness of Sharknado, but Ferrante has found a way. The plot is straightforward, but is filled with gut splitting humor of extreme absurdity. There are also many callbacks to the 1975 classic that started it all, Jaws. However, instead of being afraid to go into the ocean, you now have to be afraid to go into the pool too!

From the outrageous shark attacks to the cast who delivers a hilarious script that they play straight faced, it’s an equation that equals comedy horror gold.
