Taylor Sheridan’s Dutton Ranch now has a filming timeline for season 2.

The Yellowstone sequel show now has a filming window for season 2, not long after season 1 wrapped up. The show follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler after the end of Yellowstone, building a new life on a ranch in southern Texas. However, as new problems arise and the past begins haunting them, the pair and their adopted son, Carter, are forced into a conflict that they’ll need every ounce of strength to overcome. The show was a major streaming success on Paramount+, leading to a season 2 renewal in June 2026, well before season 1’s final episodes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dutton Ranch season 2 is expected to begin filming in early 2027. The show’s team of writers is poised to begin drafting season 2 soon, meaning the rest of 2026 will be spent writing and refining scripts before the episodes go into production. Speaking about Beth and her role in the series, actor Kelly Reilly stated, “Now we get to make a show that we really are proud of.” It sounds like season 2 will be upping the stakes, while giving the show what it needs to deliver new, dramatic heights.
