Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth Interview with Lou Ferrigno, Mr. Universe, Actor, Star of “The Incredible Hulk”.

Lou Ferrigno, is an iconic and beloved actor who has been immortalized by his unforgettable portrayal of “The Incredible Hulk”.

He started out as a highly accomplished weightlifter and bodybuilder, who, after winning the Mr. America title, won his first Mr. Universe title at the age of 21, and went on to win the title AGAIN the following year. He caused an international sensation in the popular 1977 documentary “Pumping Iron”, and he also briefly played professional football for the Toronto Argonauts.

In addition to playing “The Hulk” on TV for 5 seasons, and in 3 TV movies, “The Incredible Hulk Returns”, “The Trial of the Incredible Hulk”, and “The Death of The Incredible Hulk”, our guest went on to star in a number of movies including “Hercules”, “Sinbad of the Seven Seas”, “Frogtown II”, “I Love you, Man”, “The Misery Brothers”, “Ping!”, “From Heaven to Hell” – and of course, his very famous cameo appearances as a security guard in the 2003 movie, “Hulk”, and the 2008 movie, “The Incredible Hulk”, in which he also provided the voice of “The Hulk”.

He’s also guest-starred on numerous TV shows including “The Fall Guy”, “The New Mike Hammer”, “The King of Queens”, “Con Man”, “Adventure Time”, and the 2022 miniseries, “The Offer”. In 1997 he was featured in the dynamic documentary entitled, “Stand Tall”, about his sensational return to professional bodybuilding at the age 43. Our guest is also the author of 3 bestselling books entitled, “The Incredible Lou Ferrigno: His Story With His Step-by-Step Training Program and Special Techniques for Building a Superb Body”, published in 1982, “Lou Ferrigno’s Guide to Personal Power, Bodybuilding, and Fitness”, which came out in 1996, and a terrific book published in 2003 called “My Incredible Life as the Hulk”. He also wrote the forward to the 2011 book by Patrick A. Jankiewicz entitled, “You Wouldn’t Like Me When I’m Angry: A Hulk Companion.”

When he’s not busy making movies and TV shows, he is constantly in demand at HUGE Comic Con conventions around the world, where he greets thousands of fans who wait in line for hours for the chance to say hello and get an autograph and a selfie. In 2017, our guest was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame. And in 2018, he was appointed a member of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

Harvey Brownstone is a retired judge of the Ontario Court of Justice and was the first openly gay judge in Canada. He is also the bestselling author of “Tug of War: A Judge’s Verdict on Separation, Custody Battles and the Bitter Realities of Family Court” and hosted “Family Matters with Justice Harvey Brownstone,” a television talk show on matters involving the family justice system.

After a distinguished legal career, Harvey was appointed a judge at the age of 38 in 1995.  He has presided in family and criminal courts.   He has been a trailblazer in several ways.  He was the first openly gay judge in Canada.  He was the first sitting judge in the world to write a national best seller and to host a TV talk show.

Harvey has been a role model and icon in the LGBTQ community.  When same-sex marriage was legalized in Canada in 2003, he was the only judge to make himself publicly available to officiate at weddings for lesbian and gay couples travelling to Toronto from all over the world to get married.  In 2007, he officiated at the wedding of Edith Windsor and Thea Spyer, the American couple whose marriage triggered the 2013 United States Supreme Court decision overturning the definition of “spouse” in the federal Defense of Marriage Act.

In February 2021, Harvey launched his online talk show “Harvey Brownstone Interviews” on his own YouTube channel. He saw this as an interesting hobby.   Within several months, the show attracted hundreds of thousands – and then eventually, millions – of viewers.  Because of the overwhelming success of the show, Harvey decided to retire from the judiciary on December 31, 2021 after having presided as a full-time judge for 26 1/2 years.  Free from the constraints imposed upon judges regarding the expression of opinions and the endorsement of private enterprise, Harvey now happily devotes his full-time attention to hosting “Harvey Brownstone Interviews” as a regular member of the public – albeit one with a rather illustrious and unique career history.
