After the success of The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf animated spinoff, Netflix announced today via “Geeked Week” that a new animated spinoff feature The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is on the way. This time Geralt of Rivia appears to be venturing into aquatic horror territory based on the new teaser unveiled.

Expect to see The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep on Netflix in late 2024.

About the film, ” Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends — old and new — to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into all-out war.”

Watch the teaser below to get a glimpse at some of the aquatic creatures that the famed monster hunter will have to contend with.

As for when this spinoff is set? Tudum explains that Sirens of the Deep takes place between episodes 5 and 6 of “The Witcher” season one. That means that if you’re not caught up, you don’t have too much homework to prepare.

Doug Cockle will be voicing Geralt. The spinoff film is directed by Kang Hei Chul and written by the series’ writers Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin.

“The Witcher” stars Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey will also reprise their roles as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Jaskier for the animated movie. New character Essi Davis will be voiced by Christina Wren.

“I am super excited to announce my return to the world of The Witcher voicing Geralt of Rivia once again,” Cockle told Netflix. “I’m thrilled to be able to share this next chapter of the White Wolf’s journey with fans of the Witcher universe. Mire taedh aen stráede!”

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep comes from South Korean animation studio Studio MIR, who was also behind Netflix’s The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender.
