Writer/editor Martin Pasko has died at the age of 65, according to friend and former DC Publiher Paul Levitz. The date or cause of death is unknown at this time.

The native Quebecer was a prolific writer, working primarily at DC but with also short stints at Marvel Comics and Disney Comics. He is well-known for his comic book runs on Superman, Action Comics, Saga of the Swamp Thing, and Justice League of America.

“He was the first of the fan generation to be the regular writer on Superman (then the prestige assignment at DC), helped bring Wonder Woman back to glory after her detour out of costume, and touched the lives of most of the DC heroes,” Levitz wrote.

In addition to comics, Pasko had a long career in television. In addition to serving as a writer/story editor on Batman: The Animated Series (co-writing Batman: Mask of the Phantasm even), he wrote episodes of Cheers, Rosanne, Thundarr the Barbarian, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

At various times, Pasko served as an editor for both DC and Disney Comics, and in the late 1990s and early 2000s was DC’s primarily liaison with Warner Bros. for the various TV and film adaptation of DC comic books.
