The new Aretha Franklin TV series Genius: Aretha premieres on National Geographic in May 2020. Today (December 6), Entertainment Weekly has shared the first photo of Erivo as the Queen of Soul. Check out the image below via National Geographic Channel’s Instagram.
Genius: Aretha will feature a number of Aretha Franklin’s hit songs, including “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)” and “Chain of Fools.” Cynthia Erivo will perform many of the songs herself.
