Things get spooky in more ways than one on Superstore Season 5 Episode 6

On second thought, maybe stressful is a better word.

Despite the union being on the right track, things quickly go south when the new district manager comes to Cloud 9 the same day Jonah is finishing up the process.

On top of that, Jonah has left Amy out of the loop on some things he probably shouldn’t have, which leads to some trouble between the fan-favorite pairing.

For people worried about Simmosa content in the latest Halloween installment, we can say that there definitely isn’t a lack of interaction between the two as they share the same storyline.

After very few scenes between them in Superstore Season 5, the amount of content between the show’s main pairing has been both frustrating and downright sad.

Thankfully, there is Amy and Jonah content on the Halloween-themed episode, but is it the kind of content fans wanted?

Yes. No. Maybe? It’s hard to explain.

There were things to hate and things to love, so it will be interesting to see how viewers feel about it.

In other words, it’s pretty much impossible to gauge how the audience will react.

Without saying too much, Jonah and Amy are moving in a certain direction. But is it forwards or backward?

You’ll have to tune in and decide for yourself.

Fans of One Day at a Time should be excited to meet the new district manager, Maya, who is portrayed by Justina Machado.

Justina does an excellent job guest-starring, and we couldn’t have picked a better actress to fill this role.

Thankfully, Maya is nothing like Laurie, and she is a character that’s easy to love. She appears to be an all-around good person, but nothing is for certain.

There are plenty of opportunities that will give her the chance to prove what kind of district manager she will be.

Is she on the employees’ side? Is she just another Corporate minion? Who knows for sure?

Meanwhile, Mateo and Cheyenne become worried that Dina may be the answer to the foot mystery.

Remember the human feet that have been found around Cloud 9 for seasons? The dynamic duo wants to get to the bottom of it.

Funnily enough, the assistant manager being the culprit may be one of Cheyenne and Mateo’s more sensible ideas.

It is Dina, after all. That woman is capable of doing whatever she puts her mind to. Although, murder may be a bit extreme.

Mateo and Cheyenne’s scenes are funny as usual, and it’s great to have Mateo working in the store again, even if it is at the Vision Center.

Will they finally solve the mystery? Or is the killer still out there?

Does the foot thief give any other of The Office fans, Scranton Strangler vibes, or is it just me?

Lastly, Garrett and Glenn are paired together to run the store’s haunted house.

Glenn had a rather traumatic forty-five minute haunted house meal during his childhood, and he hasn’t been able to go in one ever since.

And yes, this is vague and doesn’t make any sense, but once you watch it for yourselves it’ll click into place. Kind of.

Can anyone ever make sense of what Glenn is saying?

It wouldn’t be Garrett if he didn’t take advantage of this golden opportunity, so prepare for some laughs and some scares.

Overall, Superstore Season 5 Episode 6 didn’t dissapoint.

It wasn’t the best Halloween episode of the series, but it was still an excellent addition to the show and will hopefully put viewers in a festive mood.

Teases:

  • As revealed in promos, Kelly does make an appearance and play a big role in the episode. Viewers may not be her biggest fan, but it’s hard not to feel bad for her once in a while.
  • A fan-favorite trope comes into play…but not in the way we want it to.
  • There’s a funny parallel to one of the best scenes in Superstore (and television) history that long-time viewers and shippers will appreciate.
  • Our vote for the best costume has to go to Marcus. There may not be an official costume contest, but if there was he would win.
  • Sandra makes a comeback as the store’s biggest Simmosa fan. No one loves their OTP quite like Sandra does.
