Everything is coming up “Marvel GamerVerse” in 2025, and the latest new line of Marvel action figures to be announced will be joining the trend! Following “Marvel vs Capcom” themed lineups from Hasbro and PCS, Bandai Tamashii Nations is hopping onto the bandwagon with their own video game-inspired series: pre-orders have now launched for the Marvel GamerVerse SH Figuarts Cyclops figure! He’s a dream come true for fans of the Capcom/Marvel fighting games, but like all Marvel Figuarts, won’t come cheap…

Cyclops Figuarts Figure Firing Optic Blast

Cyclops has been part of the Capcom Marvel fighting games family ever since the first-ever game in the licensed lineup, X-Men:Children of the Atom. Norm Spencer reprised his legendary voice acting role of Cyclops from X-Men The Animated Series for these Capcom fighting games, and even after having not played them in years, I can still hear him bellowing out “Optic Blast!” crystal clear in my head. Good times!

SH Figuarts Cyclops 6" Figure Firing Optic Blast at the SkyAlthough Cyclops doesn’t really mesh with my preferred play style (so I didn’t play a tremendous amount of hours as him in-game), Cyclops is actually really, really good in Marvel vs Capcom 2 and the other Capcom fighting games he’s playable in. So Cyclops is popular with fans of the fighting game both for being the high-profile leader of the X-Men, as well as for being a powerful high-tier character to main!

Marvel GamerVerse Cyclops S.H. Figuarts Action FigureSince he’s been both good in the Capcom Marvel games and present in them right from the start, Scott Summers makes a perfect first choice to kick off the related S.H. Figuarts Marvel GamerVerse lineup! And so, let’s take a look at SH Figuarts CyclopsMarvel Gamerverse Cyclops Figuarts Action Figure Doing Uppercut Marvel vs CapcomWhen Bandai surprise-revealed their teasers for MvC Cyclops last month, a lot of fans were immediately concerned about the scale of the action figure. SH Figuarts figures have traditionally ran around 5” tall. Thankfully, Bandai confirmed Cyclops is 6.1” tall (155 mm), so he should fit in reasonably well with a 6” figure collection like Marvel Legends (although Hasbro’s figures tend to run slightly big).

Bandai Namco Tamashii Nations Cyclops S.H. Figuarts 6" FigureFor licensing reasons, Bandai can only release their Marvel figures at a time premium price-point in the United States, but in Cyclops’ case, we at least get relevant accessories rather than the ubiquitous random effects that came with the MCU Figuarts.

SH Figuarts Cyclops Figure with Super Optic Blast Hyper Combo BackdropCyclops comes with four pairs of interchangeable hands, interchangeable face parts, several visors, 3 types of optic blast effects, different ways to fix his neck, and even a backdrop illustrating the Mega Optic Blast Hyper Combo. It’s a very respectable assortment of accessories to let this toy recreate most everything Cyclops can do in the Marvel vs Capcom series. I particularly love the flavor that the backdrop adds to the overall presentation of the toy.

Cyclops SH Figuarts Figure Making X With his HandsS.H. Figuarts Cyclops is up for ordering now and estimated to ship out at the end of 2025/start of 2026, and retails for $99.99 in the US. That’s a scary price-point for a 6” action figure, but domestic Bandai Figuarts collectors are used to paying a premium, so I think Slim will fare just fine.

What do you think, Marvel collectors? Is Bandai’s first MvC offering worth that $100 price-tag, and are you planning to pick one up yourself? What Marvel character are you hoping to see next in this line?
