I complained mightily about the lack of a Sonic Screaming head with the X-Men Legends Siryn figure a couple years back, so I might have lost my shit if Hasbro delivered Theresa’s daddy here with the same omission. Thankfully, I can put away my torch and pitchfork and come down off my soapbox, as Hasbro has given collectors the best action figure ever of Banshee with this new release in the “Mini Comics Series”. Spoilers. Here’s my review…

Banshee isn’t exactly a character that casual fans are traditionally beating down the doors for merch of, so it’s a little miraculous we’re getting our second mass-released Hasbro Marvel Legends Banshee figure in two years here as part of the “Mini Comics” Series.

When Hasbro released the less popular blue and yellow costume version of this figure in the X-Men 60th Anniversary 3-pack in 2023, they more or less promised we’d get the more desirable costume before too long. And lo and behold, here it is.

And I have to say—this is a really, really nice toy. The green costume is my vastly preferred look for this character, and Hasbro has nailed it here. From the soft flexible collar to the permanently affixed (thank god) soft goods cape, Hasbro perfected the essential add-ons to this costume. The colors of the plastic, fabric and paint are also dead-on.

And unlike the original 2007 Annihilus Series Banshee (shown above), Banshee isn’t blonde and practically albino pale this time. Hasbro really botched their first pass at ML Banshee way back then; it’s a shame it’s taken 18 years for an update to that iteration.

Banshee’s body is fully modern and pin-free, and it includes the butterfly swivel shoulders that I think are integral for a character doing various wide-arme/flying poses like Banshee.

The ever-popular ankle rockers, a crunch and double-hinge knees/elbows are also present. Everything I wanted to do posing this figure felt very achievable.

For accessories, Banshee comes with three alternate hands, an extra head and the faux “mini comic”. I complained about the mini comic ad nauseam in my Adam Warlock review, so I’ll forgo doing that again here.

I think it’s a nice touch giving the “Giant Size X-Men #1” plastic block a white “back cover” to contrast the black one on the “Infinity Gauntlet”. A little variety is always nice.

The Sonic Scream open-mouthed portrait is the head I’ll be displaying Sean with 100% of the time, but I appreciate the option of a closed-mouth, neutral head being included for those who’d like that look/-it’s just not what I want from my Banshee action figure.

4 of the 5 hands are fists and open hands, all of which make sense and facilitate flying poses and holding the plastic block (errr… “mini comic”). The one accessory here that feels a bit head scratchy is a trigger finger right hand. This Banshee figure doesn’t come with a gun (and really shouldn’t anyway), so the trigger finger feels a little out of place.

Overall: As I mentioned in my Adam Warlock review, I’m expecting a lot from $25-$27 Marvel Legends figures that don’t include at least a Build-A-Figure piece. And in the case of this 2025 Marvel Legends Banshee figure, Hasbro has delivered. The colors, accessories, articulation and quality are all exactly what I want for this character. Between this and the 3-pack Banshee from 2023, I see little reason I will ever feel the need to buy another Sean Cassidy figure again. Good work, Hasbro.
