“The Sorceress’ Apprentice!”

Don’t worry Dan, Zatanna is here to help! High above the Earth, inside the Justice League’s high-tech space station headquarters, the Blue Devil has arrived to receive help in removing the stunt suit grafted onto his body. Unfortunately, the daughter of the great Zatara is having some difficulty removing the demonic spell cast by Nebiros. The only solution is to consult the library.

As Zatanna and Daniel Cassidy consult the oldest known book of magic, Superman and the Elongated Man attempt to recruit the Blue Devil for the Justice League of America. Dan wanted none of it. Once the suit is off, he’s out of there. No questions asked.

Will Daniel Cassidy have to travel into the dark dimension of Nebiros to get the Blue Devil suit removed from his body? What does the great Demonography have to say about his chances? Has Superman revealed too much information about his secret identity? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

If you’re a DC Comics fan, the Blue Devil series is one you will want to check out. The character and setting are definitely unique, with lots of interaction between well-known characters in the prime DC universe. I dislike it when comic book writers seclude their creations from the primary world. With Blue Devil, we get none of that.

I found this issue fun and comedic. Not sure how I feel about Elongated Man. He seems to be the Jar Jar Binks of the JLA. I’m not 100% sure why Plastic Man has been replaced with this guy, but the book is not about him. We are here for Daniel Cassidy, aka the Blue Devil. I give this issue four out of five stars.
