“The Cursed Library: Alpha – Part I”

Captured! Lucifer’s concubine escaped to the town of Riverdale but hell soon followed. As Madam Satan hides herself among the students of Riverdale High, Earth is invaded by demonic hordes of flesh-eating monsters. Armageddon has arrived!

While the Mourning Star builds his castle in the smoldering ruins of the old high school, the devil’s daughter, Jinx Holiday, has used her magic and snarky disposition to capture the infamous Madam Satan herself. Now it’s time for Jinx to make amends with her pop and save everyone from rock ‘n’ roll hell. Danni Malloy, watch your back!

Is it even legal for the devil to make a deal with family? What was the last movie Jinx and Danni watched before Riverdale went to hell? Who is Madam Satan, really?

Reviewer Notes

Hell has literally frozen over since Archie Comics released any updates to this storyline. Better late than never, I guess. For those that follow the Archie horror-verse, you may want to pick this one up if you are really interested in the Jinx storyline. For me, this annual Halloween one-shot has been ho-hum for me. I like the characters, but it seems to fall outside even the Sabrina and normal horror timeline.

I said it before, that Archie needs to consolidate all of its horror books into one fluent universe. This book was fun, however, it lacked substance. I give The Cursed Library: Alpha three out of five stars.
