Caity Baser has been announced as a keynote interviewee at War Child’s upcoming ‘Women In Music’ day on October 9.

The event comes as part of the charity’s ‘Day Of The Girl’ campaign with YouTube Music, which seeks to highlight the key issues affecting women in music. The former NME cover star will feature in the ‘Women in Music and Creative Industries Panel Day’ at Google Digital Studios, Pancras Square, London on October 9.

Taking place around the UN’s International Day of the Girl Child, the event also highlights War Child’s work protecting, educating, and advocating for the rights of girls and women living in war zones.

Elsewhere, as part of the campaign, Bree Runway, RØRY, Matilda Mann and Connie Constance will play intimate shows around London between October 8-12.

Bree Runway and RØRY will kick off the series of shows on October 8, with the former playing Lafayette and the latter performing at 100 Club. Matilda Mann will then play Lafayette on October 9, and Connie Constance will wrap up the string of shows at The Lexington on October 12. You can buy tickets here.

The shows aim to offer a lifeline for girls and women surviving war. Clare Sanders-Wright, Live Music Lead at War Child said that the concerts will be “an incredible showcase of female-identifying artists who are not just brilliant musicians and performers but also taking a stand to support women and girls facing conflict and war.”

“We are also delighted to be hosting four Day of the Girl panel events this year. Artists, experts and content creators will be there to engage with fans and those already working within the creative industries alike, to help inspire and support the next generation of women within the music and wider industries succeed.”
