It has been two years since we last saw director Sam Raimi and his pal Bruce Campbell work together. It was for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in which Campbell made a cameo. But are these two besties collaborating on a new horror project? Maybe, but neither is officially confirming anything.

It was recently announced that Raimi is set to direct and produce a horror movie titled Send Help! from a screenplay written by A Quiet Place scribes Scott Beck and Bryan Woods.

Meanwhile, Campbell is set to make an appearance in the upcoming series Hysteria! which follows a group of high schoolers that form a satanic metal band which may lead to real dealings with the Devil himself. In an interview with Collider about that show, Campbell was asked about his friend Raimi’s upcoming Send Help! and whether or not he’d be involved.

“Well, you would think,” Campbell told the publication. “That ridiculous Doctor Strange [in the Multiverse of Madness] movie made like a bazillion dollars. Prop the old man up, get him back in the chair, and let’s go!”

Veiled agism jokes aside, Campbell didn’t elaborate on whether or not he will be a part of the film, but he did say they talked about it already.

“Well, that’s a private conversation that we’ve had,” said Campbell, “but he is aware of the fact that he needs me to provide pivotal roles in his movie. It’s not about big parts. It’s about pivotal parts, right?”

It’s been proven that Campbell is a draw for Raimi’s films whether it’s just a cameo or a full-fledged main character. The two have been successful with their Evil Dead series, the latest Evil Dead Rise was produced by Raimi with Fede Alvarez directing and Campbell making a speaking cameo.

Campbell who just turned 66 years old this month said back in 2021 that he officially retired Ash, the Evil Dead character he created over 40 years ago. He has written two successful memoirs and will be making an appearance at Son of Monster Palooza in Burbank, CA, on October 12 and 13. Maybe he will reveal more then.
