Like a visual history lesson in horror movie icons, the latest film from the co-producer of Terrifier 2 called Stream gathers some of the genre’s most revered actors under one roof for a cool new concept.

The trailer for this Expendables-like collaboration dropped today and it triggers so much nostalgia seeing so many familiar faces you might have to watch it again to get a sense of the plot. But we will summarize it for you later just in case you missed it.

The movie, directed by Michael Leavy who produced Terrifier 2, is a grab bag of 80’s movie actors who have played final girls, villains, or distraught mothers.

Leavy must have prayed to the horror movie gods, and they answered in abundance because this cast is unbelievable. It’s like stepping into the autograph hall at a horror convention.

Stream stars, Danielle Harris (Halloween 4, Hatchet II, Stake Land), Dee Wallace (Howling, Cujo), Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator), Tony Todd (Candyman, Final Destination), Tim Reid (It), and Charles Edwin Powell (Screamers, Exorcist III). In addition, there is also an appearance by the genre’s newest icon David Howard Thornton (Terrifier, Terrifier 2, Terrifier 3). Furthermore, Damien Leone (Terrifier, Terrifier 2) is doing the practical effects.

Here’s that plot summary in case you missed it:

“When Roy and Elaine Keenan realize their family is drifting apart, they decide that something needs to be done. Roy forces his work to take a back seat and they seize the opportunity to recreate a vacation from their past. A peaceful stay in a quaint hotel is just what they need, however that is not what is in store for them. With four deranged murderers patrolling the seemingly mundane halls, the odds are definitely not in the Keenan family’s favor. Roy must fight for his life and those of his family as their simple weekend getaway truly turns into a vacation to die for.”

Stream

Stream is scheduled to release theatrically on August 21.
