Danny and Michael Philippou are cracking open the script and have begun day one of shooting for their latest A24 project, Bring Her Back. Their social media announcement is accompanied by a self-imposed affirmation “Please don’t f**k this up.”

The YouTube twins went from content creators to full-fledged A-list directors after the release of their 2022 film Talk to Me.

Talk to Me

Nothing has been revealed about the Bring Her Back plot, but there are some interesting casting details. Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water, Wonka) will star in the film along with 16-year-old Billy Barratt, Jonah Wren Phillips (The Returned), Stephen Phillips (The Leftovers), Sally-Anne Upton (Wentworth), and newcomer Sora Wong.

The brothers Philippou have said they are doing a sequel to Talk to Me, but there is no word on when that is happening. However, they have an ace in the hole because a screenlife prequel already exists.

“We actually shot an entire Duckett prequel already. It’s told entirely through the perspective of mobile phones and social media, so maybe down the line we can release that,” Danny told The Hollywood Reporter back in August of 2023.

We at iHorror wish both Danny and Michael and the entire cast of Bring Her Back a smooth shooting schedule and we cannot wait to see what these spirited directors have up their sleeves.
