Julie Byrne has announced a new EP, a project she recorded with her friends Emily Fontana and Taryn Blake Miller (the latter of whom also records as Your Friend). Julie Byrne With Laugh Cry Laugh is out November 17 via Ghostly International. Today, Byrne has shared one of the EP’s four tracks, “Velocity! What About the Inertia!?,” as well as a cover of Jackson Browne’s “These Days.” (Byrne previously covered the Browne song for Light in the Attic.) Listen to the new songs below.

Together, Byrne, Fontana, and Miller call themselves Laugh Cry Laugh. They worked on the EP at Miller’s apartment in the winter of 2022.

Byrne released her third album, The Greater Wings, in July, seven years after her previous LP, 2017’s Not Even Happiness. Read “An Afternoon at Coney Island With Julie Byrne, Sage of Reason” on the Pitch.
