NetherRealm picks up from last week’s Geras reveal with more Kombatants joining the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1, announcing that Reptile, Ashrah, and Havik as the latest playable fighters joining the main roster. The reveal announcement is accompanied by a new trailer, primarily focusing on Reptile’s new look and portraying him in a more sympathetic light than in previous games.

In this incarnation for Mortal Kombat 1, Reptile, also known as Syzoth, is a reptiloid slave and shapeshifter from the fringes of Outworld. Fans will be happy to know that he still retains his ability to spew his acid-like substance at opponents. Though this time around, his entire body briefly morphs back to his reptilian form while performing his moves. We’re also treated to one of his juicy fatalities.

Another returning fighter from Mortal Kombat: Deception, Ashrah is a Netherrealm demon who has abandoned her evil-ridden ideologies, and now fights with an enchanted Kriss dagger in her quest to find absolution. The new trailer also gives us a glimpse at her fatality.

Also returning from Deception is Havik, an anarchist rebel from the oppressive realm of Seido, who is intent on taking down his world’s regime. We’re treated to his uniquely gory fighting style, which involves Havik ripping off his own limbs to beat his opponents with them.

In addition to the three fighters, we also get a glimpse of Sareena, who made her debut way back in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero. For Mortal Kombat 1, Sareena is now a Kameo Fighter.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set for release on September 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
