Since you loved the behind-the-scenes footage the first time, Gun Interactive is back with another video showing off the process of record audio and sound effects for their upcoming multiplayer horror game The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The focus of the featurette is none other than the titular tool of devastation itself.

In the video, sadly it’s not Kane Hodder doing the dance, but Gun President and CEO Wes Keltner gives it his all. Joined by Foley FX artist Lord Kayoss and veteran SFX recording artist Watson Wu, the trio explains the challenges in attempting to recreate the original chainsaw and subsequent sound effects of the original 1974 film.

In fact, when asked by a fan on Twitter regarding the efforts, Wes stated that it was “very hard” to track down the actual chainsaw model. “We located 3. Sourced parts. Rebuilt. Took about 6 months in total.” Even then, when it came down to doing the dance, Wes ended up killing the saw while doing it. “You’ll hear it sputter out and I say ‘That’s it!’.”

The video also features brand-new footage from the game, as well as a detailed breakdown of the work behind VFX recording.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Game launches later this year for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
