A few months back, Crystal Dynamics had released a survey for fans of the Legacy of Kain series, asking them just what they wanted in a new game if the developer were to pursue it. Well, the results are in, and Crystal Dynamics have heard fans “loud and clear” in regards to resurrecting the series.

Per Video Games Chronicle, during Embracer Group’s latest earnings call, CEO of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Phil Rogers stated that the developer wanted to gain “a community perspective” on just what players we looking for if they were to revisit the Legacy of Kain series. “In the past, we’ve found that surveys typically get between 1,000 and 3,000 responses, but when we asked folk about Legacy of Kain, we received over 100,000 responses. 73,000 gamers completed it entirely, and if you are one of them, we thank you very much, and we appreciate it was quite an effort given the survey was pretty extensive.”

Rogers continued, saying that thanks to the news of the survey being shared across the press and social media, Crystal Dynamics “felt this was a great way to reignite this passionate fan community with this legendary PC and console game series. Rest assured, we hear you loudly and clearly, and we will continue to update you on the what if possibilities ahead for Legacy of Kain in the future.”

Obviously, Crystal Dynamics hasn’t elaborated on what those possibilities would be. But seeing as the survey asked about a new entry in the series, a reboot and/or a remaster, there’s plenty of options available for the developers as to what to do next.
