Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai new Youtube channel has been great at giving fans an insight into Sakurai’s design process for video games and today’s video is no exception. The latest video proves a look at Dragon King, which was the prototype for the original Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 64 system. The footage which he has showcased in the video has never been seen before outside of Nintendo and shows the building blocks of what would be become the start of a huge new series for Nintendo and Mr. Sakurai. Both prototypes were well received by Nintendo, but Mr. Sakurai was working on Mother 3 and a new Kirby game at the time, but both were canned so he started continuing his work on the four player fighting game Dragon King, which ultimately morphed into Super Smash Bros 64.
