Hasbro made some surprise announcements regarding some new additions to the line from the Obi-Wan series with two new figures being Teeka and Jablim Obi-Wan Kenobi. Teeka is the merchant Jawa that we see Obi-Wan bartering with in the first episode of the series and the Obi-Wan Kenobi figure is based on his appearance in the latter half of the series where he is wearing a more traditional Jedi outfit.

I really like the figure of Teeka the only thing that I feel is missing is that Teeka doesn’t come with the toy ship that Obi-Wan takes to give to Luke that you see Luke toy with in A New Hope. That would have been a very nice accessory. It’s great that a Jawa figure actually comes with junk to barter with and looks a bit different from the other Jawa figures Hasbro has released. I should also mention in the States this figure is a Target exclusive.

Like I said earlier this figure of Obi-Wan is based on his appearance in the latter half of the series where he is wearing a more traditional Jedi knight costume. Very reminiscent of the robes he wore in Revenge of The Sith. His robes are darker than they were in that film and his hair is tidier as well than when it looked earlier in the series. This was the perfect look for Obi-Wan when he rescued Leia from Fortress Inquisitorius. As he was becoming more connected with the force and becoming the Jedi knight he used to be. I suspected we would get a figure of Obi-Wan in this outfit as it is part of his character arc in the series.

He also comes with the same accessories as the other Obi-Wan figure we are getting from the series, his blaster pistol, lightsaber, and robe which is a bit different as this one doesn’t have sleeves. Oddly they haven’t shown any packaging shots like they have for Teeka. Also, I find the likeness to Ewan McGregor is better on this figure than the other Obi-Wan figures that we have seen in the Black Series from this show. An absolute must-have for me.

Hopefully, we’ll see more figures from Obi-Wan like a young Leia Organa as she was such a pivotal part of the series and a battle-damaged Darth Vader from the final episode showing part of Anakin’s face with his yellow sith eye showing would look awesome, and terrifying.

Both of these figures will be going up for pre-order tomorrow and are scheduled to be released later this year.
