NeNe Leakes from The Real Housewives of Atlanta recently revealed that she hasn’t been eating until 6pm on a daily basis and is trying her hand at fasting. The former housewife is currently going through the grief process after the loss of her beloved husband, Gregg Leakes, who lost his battle to stage 3 colon cancer. NeNe is trying her best to move on with her day-to-day life.
The Linnethia Lounge owner is trying her best to hold her life together after she recently lost her husband. Only a week ago, NeNe revealed that her husband was in the process of transitioning to the other side. During this rough time, fans and friends took to social media to send positive thoughts her way. It was revealed to The Real Housewives of Atlanta fans that Gregg’s cancer had returned in June after he was first diagnoses back in 2018. Sadly, the cancer took a turn for the worse, and the once-strong husband started to go down a hard road, leaving NeNe widowed.
Since Gregg’s sad passing, NeNe has been focusing on her two sons and building her new career. While on Instagram, NeNe shared that she was looking to try alternate ways of healing, including going through a daily fast. The 53-year-old gave a shout-out to all the chefs who have tried to feed her in recent days, writing, “Trust me, I want to eat, but I am currently on a fast and can’t eat until after 6pm daily.” Along with her kind words, she shared some photos of the launch party at The Linnethia Lounge. While trying to ignore her grief, NeNe was surrounded by Lamar Odom, Cynthia Bailey, Drew Sidora and Marlo Hampton. Check out her post below:
NeNe may have looked like she was having the time of her life, but she acknowledged she was trying to figure out her new normal after Gregg’s passing on September 1. NeNe also shared a loving tribute as she thanked her friends for coming and supporting her. She expressed thanks for the numerous gifts and support. NeNe shared that she’ll still have highs and lows but will eventually be back on a better path, saying, “I may not always be present in the moment.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta fans have felt a tad worried about NeNe, especially after a filtered picture showed up on Instagram page. NeNe looked almost unrecognizable as the Instagram filter tweaked her face. Now with the addition of fasting, fans hope NeNe isn’t going overboard. Hopefully, the former housewife will be able to move on bit by bit and embrace her new normal.
