This morning, Nintendo aired the latest Indie World Showcase, its semi-regular event showcasing video games made by independent developers. Titles like Bomb Rush Cyberfunk and TOEM: A Photo Adventure look intriguing, but the presentation didn’t feature any big new announcements. The most exciting news to come out of the Indie World Showcase was the flurry of release dates for previously-featured, hotly anticipated titles, several of which came out just hours after the presentation aired. Here are some of the highlights:
Axiom Verge 2, a sequel to the extremely popular Metroid-like game from Thomas Happ Games, is available now.
Boyfriend Dungeon, a “dungeon crawler-dating sim indie game,” its out now.
Garden Story, a Zelda-like set in a “vibrant, organic ecosystem,” is out today.
Eastward, an indie role-playing game with dungeon elements from Chucklefish, releases September 16.
Tetris Effect, the masterpiece which turns the classic tile matching game into an audio and visual spectacle, arrives on Switch October 8.
Loop Hero, the endless RPG which has been incredibly popular on PC, comes to Switch this Holiday.
Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, the first Shovel Knight game from a developer other than Yacht Club Games, arrives this Winter.
