After last week’s shocking elimination, Drag Race Holland is back! Sederginne has sashayed away and now the competition is anyone’s game.

On Sederginne’s shocking elimination Envy Peru put it best, “that’s how it goes. One mistake and you are gone.” Speaking of Miss Peru she now has three wins under her belt. Much like Rita Baga in Canada’s Drag Race, Envy is fantastic but she does not deserve three wins. One of those wins belongs to the now-departed Sederginne and last week’s win should have gone to Chelsea Boy. Janey Jacké says “three is enough”. If anyone is Envy’s biggest competition at this point it’s Janey. She has slayed every single challenge and always ends up near the top after her sickening runways.

Fred, the host, walks in and tells the queens they are going on blind dates for the mini-challenge. As the queens stand out of drag it is once again apparent that this cast is wildly attractive and any of us would be lucky to get a date with one of these hotties.

They get the dolls to go on a blind date with a hot Dutch man, which is redundant. Even though this show is in Dutch, it’s clear that this man is a super hottie and not a super comedy person. Janey continues making bitchy comments to the confessional saying the bachelor “literally dropped her on the ground like a dog.” She is coming for the “sassy” edit hard. Ma’Ma Queen rightfully wins this challenge. They are hilarious as usual and this dating fantasy was particularly hysterical. This is such an uplifting moment for Ma’Ma Queen since last week was traumatizing to watch. It has been noted by many fans of the show on Twitter and on the podcast Whispering Huntys that the way non-binary queens were treated last week was really harmful and very transphobic.

For the main stage challenge, the queens are making over their family members! Anyone who has read these recaps of Drag Race knows that this is my least favorite challenge on the show. It is always somehow underwhelming and rarely exciting to watch two matching outfits strut down the runway. It feels like it limits the creativity of these artists and makes them have to oversimplify what they do to fit the canvas of someone else’s face and body. It feels like drag dumbed down. However, this episode, the queens are not bringing in social media people who are reality tv stars, they are painting their family. It is beautiful and their families are so cute.

Ma’Ma Queen, who has truly grown on us this season, talks with their adorable father. The guest host asks Ma’Ma Queen and their dad about their openness with being Transgender. It is a much better and safer environment than last week’s episode. When the host asks Ma’Ma Queen’s father about them being trans their father responds “someone who lives a more traditional life will have an easier life”, but that he always wanted his child to be themself. Ma’Ma Queen adds that their parents “told me when I was 7 if it made me happy… to wear those heels!” Ma’Ma Queen goes on to say “I’m not sure it’s easier to be true to yourself” but they do it. This queen is very inspiring and these conversations are pretty revolutionary on this show that reaches so many people across the world. Many of whom still have a perception of drag that it is all about cis men wearing wigs and heels. Chelsea Boy and Ma’Ma Queen are giving representation to non-binary queens in a way that is rarely showcased on this show.

Abby OMG has her brother with her who is so stinking cute! They are so charming together. Abby OMG needs to do well this week after landing in the bottom several times.

Janey’s mom says she is proud of him and Janey talks about having a great childhood because of his parents even though he was bullied in school. Then Janey says that she thinks her now deceased father was inspired by his ability to be who he wanted and not care what others think. This is quite the emotional episode. Envy Peru grew up in “a macho culture.” Her mother came to Holland because “there was no life for her in Peru.” She says her father wanted nothing to do with him when he was growing up.

These queens, unlike Canada’s Drag Race, are all expert make up artists. No one seems to be freaking out about putting makeup on their family member. There is a conversation between the three Baby Boomers: Envy’s mom, Ma’Ma Queen’s dad and Janey’s mom with their faces SO beat it is absolutely beautiful and hysterical. They all look stunning. This is the future liberals want.

On the runway, Abby OMG and her sister are dressed as fighters from Mortal Kombat! This is an absolute gag. It is such a fun reference. It is so gay, so sexy, so fun and so very Abby. Plus, it is clear her brother is super comfortable and even excited about playing a Mortal Kombat character.

Envy Peru and her mom look so good. This is an absolute home run. Janey and her mom also look incredible. The mugs are on point. Chelsea Boy and their friend look only okay. This a disappointing week for Chelsea Boy.

Ma’Ma Queen’s dad breaks down in tears on the runway and says “I think they’re incredibly brave to do these things”. All of the judges start crying. It is very emotional, very earned, and truly heart-wrenching. When this show gets it right it is so very right.

The guest judge gives Janey a very good note: “It was a bit old fashioned. I was looking for 2020”. Janey and her mom looked amazing, but this note is spot on. The judges rightfully live for Envy and her mom. This is one of her best lewks of the season. This is a week she deserves to win. They also live for Abby OMG who has been hanging on by a thread in this competition.

In the Untucked lounge, the other queens commend Ma’Ma Queens’ father by saying “you’ve shown that there are fathers out there who have respect for this art form.”

Envy Peru wins again this week. This ho has won four times! But there is no doubt about it she was the best this week by far. The lip sync battle is between Chelsea Boy and Janey Jacké. This is truly shocking. These two queens have been gunning for the win all season. It felt very obvious that either Abby or Ma were the next to go.

The queens turn out one of the better lip syncs this season has seen, which is no surprise because Chelsea Boy and Janey are stars. They do a serviceable job to Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5. Chelsea Boy is eliminated. Shocking. Twisted. Wild. Wrong…? Yes. Chelsea Boy deserved to lip sync this week but not against Janey and had it been Abby or Ma’MaQueen they would have probably been sent packing. Chelsea Boy got treated like a Hell’s Kitchen Boy. They deserved better than this! Until next week.
