Following her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5, Monet X Change has reacted to being the first-ever queen to defeat Jujubee in a lip sync battle… and teased her return as a Lip Sync Assassin on future seasons of All Stars. Monet X Change first competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10, where she placed 6th but ended up winning the season’s Miss Congeniality title.

Since being on the show, Monet has enjoyed a very successful career that includes high-profile marketing campaigns, an EP release, a talk show, and a podcast with Bob the Drag Queen. Moreover, Monet X Change came back to the franchise to compete on RuPaul’s All Stars 4, which she won alongside Trinity The Tuck. This has been a difficult year for most artists who cannot perform live or go on world tours due to the COVID-19 precautions. With that said, Monet X Change has maintained her success. This queen has managed to stay relevant throughout the pandemic, as Monet’s appearances on a variety of Drag Race-related TV shows that have aired in 2020 were recorded in advance of the crisis. For instance, Monet was brought on as a mentor for RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race and was featured on the latest episode of Werq The World: The Docu-Series season 2. Monet X Change also made waves as one of the Lip Sync Assassins who came in to challenge the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 queens. Now, the queen is looking back at her appearance on All Stars 5 and even teasing a possible return.

During an exclusive interview with Screen Rant to promote her featured episode on Werq The World: The Docu-Series season 2, Monet X Change was asked how she had felt about defeating Jujubee in the Lip Sync For Your Legacy on All Stars 5. For context, Jujubee had previously lip-synced five times on RuPaul’s Drag Race and won all five battles. This is an impressive track record that no other queen in history has managed to sustain. Monet  X Change replied, “Jujubee is a fierce performer. She’s had a really, really great track in her drag record. The fact that I just beat her and that [this was] her first defeat. Are you serious?” Then, Monet expressed that she was eager to return as a Lip Sync Assassin, saying: “Hopefully I can do it some more if we do another season of All Stars and they keep this weird twist.”

Despite the fact that All Stars 6 has yet to be confirmed, it is very likely that a new season of this Drag Race spectacular will air next year. As per the usual, the new season would either follow or precede RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13, which already finalized its casting process. With that said, Monet X Change makes a good point that her return would not only depend on her willingness, but also on the production team’s decision to keep the Lip Sync Assassin format or do away with it.

Still, considering the fact that Monet X Change defeated Jujubee – who was arguably the most unbeatable lip syncer in Drag Race history, it is certainly exciting news to hear that she is willing to come back as a Lip Sync Assassin on a future season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.
