Ever really wondered what is up, and what is down? Well, in Sky Beneath you’ll be found asking yourself that very question more times than you will care to mention. And if it’s a gravity-defying puzzler you are looking to immerse yourself in, 2021 could well be your year.
Announced by Mindhaven Games, Sky Beneath is coming to PC and consoles in 2021, leaving you to constantly keep check of what is up, and what is down, as you embark on a mind-bending sci-fi adventure.
Sky Beneath will see you taking on the role of Cassie, an intrepid scavenger seeking salvage in abandoned mining facilities. Aided by her inventor friend Annie and making the most of some super cool advanced alien technology, Cassie takes control of the gravity to walk on walls and ceilings, changing up the gravity direction of objects around her. Yep, in Sky Beneath, up and down are all relative in this mind-bending adventure.
Things in Sky Beneath play out on a planet where an uneasy alliance between humans and technologically advanced aliens has caused an increased rift, most notably between the rich and the poor. It is here where you come in and by joining Cassie and Annie must uncover the truth of what happened to the previous inhabitants of this land and how to get off this ravaged planet.
As you progress you’ll find increasingly complex puzzles to solve, as you traverse high tech research labs, opulent floating cities, and alien citadels. There will be plenty of alien flora and fauna here, like the mischievous ratcoons, which are exactly what they sound like.
“We wanted to create a game that hearkens back to the days of solitary puzzle-solving expeditions like the original Tomb Raider, yet with the warm humor and humanity of Portal and The Talos Principle,” said Eero Kuurne, Creative Director at Mindhaven Games. “Sky Beneath takes that classic gameplay, but marries it with a slick, modern presentation that’s equal parts cerebral and spectacular.”
