Players will have many different kinds of weapons at their disposal in The Last of Us Part 2. Weapons range from pistols, to rifles, bows, and even a flamethrower and each one is perfect for different situations. Ellie and new character Abby will need to use each of these weapons effectively in order to survive the dangerous world they find themselves dropped into.
One of the weapons that Abby will acquire on her journey is the crossbow. This weapon is capable of firing bolts at a high velocity, but silently. This means that players can quickly dispatch enemies in their path without drawing too much attention to themselves. Those who want this weapon will just need to follow this guide.

The Last of Us Part 2: Finding the Crossbow
Players will have access to this weapon in “The Coast” chapter while exploring the large abandoned ship as Abby. Luckily, it is absolutely impossible to miss picking up the crossbow as it is needed in order to progress through the level. Near the beginning of this chapter, the player will automatically pick up the crossbow once they go through a door and will be able to use it for the rest of the game. Players should keep in mind though that this weapon can only be used while playing as Abby, whereas Ellie will only have access to the normal bow.
The upside to having the bow is that a lot of the areas of this chapter will be swarming with Clickers and other infected. Players who want to make it out of this area without fighting the Clickers directly can headshot the infected with the crossbow to bring them easily and still have a chance to recover the bolt afterward. Since the crossbow is effectively silent, players will be able to take down these creatures from a distance without worrying about making any noise and being swarmed.
Just like the bow, players will be able to upgrade the crossbow at workbenches. A scope can be added onto the weapon, which will allow for much more accurate shots at long ranges. This effectively can turn the crossbow into a silenced sniper weapon. The biggest downside to the crossbow is that it takes a long time to reload and bolts cannot be crafted. This means that headshots should always be prioritized so that the ammo can be recovered.
The Last of Us Part 2 can be played on PlayStation 4.
