Should you be in the market for a new cooperative adventure and fancy running the retro route all whilst utilising some fun Match-3 mechanics then you are in luck, for right now the delightfully old-school Pushy and Pully in Blockland has launched on Xbox One and PC, with a Nintendo Switch launch just around the corner.

Sold as a challenging retro co-operative adventure, Pushy and Pully in Blockland tells of a daring duo who were happily travelling through space when their ship started to break up. Crashlanding on the weird world of Blockland, it’s now up to you to help Pushy and Pully run for their lives, gathering up the pieces needed to fix their spaceship, before getting the hell out of there.

As with many space adventures though, the landscape these two find themselves in is a weird one – a blocky affair that is full of monsters – and only by utilising the old grey matter, and a little bit of skill, pushing and pulling blocks to combine them into power-ups will success be found. Inspired by the likes of Bomberman, Pushy and Pully in Blockland comes with no less than 50 handcrafted stages which will see you fighting back against the pixelated monsters within, while enjoying a smattering of Match-3 action for good measure.

Features include:

  • Play solo or with a friend
  • Classic gameplay with never-seen-before twists
  • Combine blocks of the same colour to create the power up you need or the bonus points that will bump up your position in the leaderboards
  • End the stage by defeating all the enemies before time runs out
  • Defeat more than one monster at the same time or pop more than two blocks to get extra combo points.
  • 50 lovingly handmade levels
  • 5 unique bosses to challenge you
  • Leaderboards and stage rating. Can you make more points than your friends?

Available for just £9.99 from the Xbox Store, Pushy and Pully in Blockland on Xbox One and PC will cater for the solo space adventurer or those who prefer to work in teams, with cooperative moments possibly able to provide the most fun and enjoyment.

If you’re up for a bit of block pushing and reckon Pushy and Pully in Blockland has what it takes to tempt you in, then hit up the Xbox Store or Steam page and grab a download. Our full review will be coming along in the days ahead, sure to divulge further info and exactly why you should be wanting to get involved. And if you prefer to game on Nintendo Switch, Pushy and Pully in Blockland will be hitting the Nintendo eShop on the 21st May.

Game Description:

Pushy and Pully in Blockland is a cooperative arcade game with a retro feeling. Pushy and Pully are travelling through space when their spaceship breaks. They end up falling into Blockland, a planet full of blocks and monsters. The only way for them to escape is to move from room to room while defeating the monsters, until they find a boss that has a piece of the spaceship. Help Pushy and Pully get back their spaceship on their trip across Blockland. Push blocks to defeat the monsters, join blocks of the same colour to get power ups and defeat the bosses to recover the parts of your broken spaceship.
