For anyone looking for action, adventure, narrative, and a hell of a good time, the Metro series of games have more than delivered. And when Metro Exodus dropped onto Xbox One, PS4 and PC via the Epic Games Store in early 2019, those levels of action, adventure and narrative reached all new heights. Needless to say, it also provided a stunning experience. Today though it’s all about the second major expansion for Metro Exodus, and following on from The Two Colonels we find details and the full release date of Sam’s Story.
Sam’s Story will arrive in Metro Exodus on Xbox One, PS4 and PC come 11th February 2020, providing the second huge story DLC drop for the base Exodus game. And with The Two Colonels having delivered a stellar job back in August 2019, hopes are extremely high that Sam’s Story will continue the brilliance.
Coming from Deep Silver and 4A Games, Sam’s Story follows former US Marine Sam, a Spartan Ranger who has worked under Colonel Miller since the nuclear war devastated Moscow, and followed Artyom in search of a world outside of the Metro. Sam had long dreamed of returning to his homeland, and perhaps even finding his father alive. The prospect seemed impossible in the darkened tunnels of the Metro, but when the Spartans discovered that Moscow was not the only city left alive after the war, holding out hope didn’t feel so foolish anymore.
Sam, determined to find a way back to the USA, departed from the Aurora to make his way through Vladivostok’s tsunami ravaged harbours, ruined industrial buildings, and crumbling residential districts. However, to complete his journey, Sam will discover that he needs every tactic he has learned so far to survive, as his surroundings prove to be far trickier than expected.
This latest story arc will provide an expansive ‘sandbox survival’ level, in which players will experience another gripping story line featuring new characters, weapons and mutant variants, in a huge, non-linear environment that offers hours of gameplay.
This will all become available come 11th February 2020 for those who have access to the Metro Exodus base game on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, with it included in the Expansion Pass that has previously provided access to The Two Colonels. If you’re a Metro Exodus player, then you really won’t want to miss this next chapter in the tale.
