DJ Khaled, John Legend, and the late Nipsey Hussle have taken home the award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration tonight at the 62nd Annual Grammy Award. Khaled’s 2019 single “Higher” beat out songs by Lil Baby and Gunna (“Drip Too Hard”), Lil Nas X (“Panini”), Mustard and Roddy Ricch (“Ballin”), and Young Thug, J. Cole, and Travis Scott (“The London”).

This is DJ Khaled’s first Grammy win. Earlier this evening, Nipsey Hussle was posthumously honored with the Grammy for Best Rap Performance for his song “Racks in the Middle.” Khaled also led a Nipsey tribute performance.

Nipsey Hussle was fatally shot last June while outside his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles. Following his death, Hussle’s family and friends celebrated his life with a public memorial service at the Staples Center in L.A. Read “Nipsey Hussle’s Legacy Is Bigger Than Rap” on Levels.
