Marvel debuted a new trailer for Square Enix’s big-budget Avengers video game that showcases new aspects of the gameplay, particularly its online component. The promotion for the game has largely spotlighted the story in the single-player campaign, but developers hope you spend far more time playing online co-op.
Like other live service titles, players will play (and repeat) missions to unlock new gear and abilities. Square Enix hopes to entice gamers with outfits from throughout Marvel’s history they can use to customize their favorite heroes. Most likely players will earn those cosmetic items both through gameplay and microtransactions.
