“To Defy Dr. Doom!”

Jessica Drew watched from the rooftop as the thugs pulled Professor James into a limousine parked in front of her building. Hey, that’s kidnapped! What do they want with the world’s top plastic surgeon?

A better question is why they are flying the Professor to Latveria. It’s time to swap identities and let the mysterious Spider-Woman handle this bizarre human trafficking scheme. The only problem is that Spider-Woman has limited gliding abilities. Time to call a travel agent!

What horrors await Professor James in the city of Doomstadt? Does Jessica Drew have enough experience to handle this level of international crime? Who is behind this brazen kidnapping? Collect the bubblegum to find out!

Review

From the minds of Marvel Comics, to the marketing geniuses at Amurol Products, comes the limited mini-comics series Bubble Funnies. Any kid living in the 1980s who loved comic books and chewing gum would ask mom and dad for these goodies. This issue was written and produced by the Marvel bullpen team. The story is very solid for what it is. I give Spider-Woman and Doom a solid three out of five stars.
