REVIEW: Marvel Legends Uncanny Spider-Man Nightcrawler Figure (2026)

Remember that amazing, but brief, period in 2023 when Nightcrawler donned a Spider-Man costume and had a hot and steamy fling with Silver Sable as the Uncanny Spider-Man? I do—and more importantly, so does Hasbro—who’s immortalizing the run in glorious plastic form! Marvel Legends Uncanny Spider-Man is shipping out now: is this unique Spidey/Nightcrawler mashup worth your dollars in 2026? Here’s my review…

During the tail end of the X-Men Krakoan era, mutants were on the run from the government anti-mutant organization, Orchis. Kurt Wagner chose to go into hiding while continuing his heroics, putting on a Spidey costume (with Peter Parker’s blessing) as the Uncanny Spider-Man for a few months.

This Uncanny Spider-Man limited series is notable as writer Si Spurrier’s last series at Marvel to-date, as well as where it is revealed that Mystique is actually Nightcrawler’s father (don’t ask) in the tie-in X-Men Blue comic. So this is certainly a meaningful point in Kurt’s life worth commemorating. But is the Hasbro 6” figure actually any good?I would say so—although maybe not to the highest possible level.

Uncanny Spider-Man comes on the beloved Retro Spider-Man Legends cardback packaging. For a character identity created under 3 years ago, it admittedly feels a little out of place, although the Toybiz style still warms my heart even half a decade plus into this line.

The figure itself looks awesome, with a silhouette and proportions matching exactly what I expected from the Fall of X comics. The masked head is spot-on to the comic book design (which is crucial, since it’s the only head we get).

5 accessories are packed in with Uncanny Spider-Man: 3 alternate right hands, a sword and a small teleportation effect. An unmasked Kurt Wagner head would have been logical here, but I guess we’ll need to dig into our personal stashes for that.

Nightcrawler was wielding the supernatural Hopesword during his tenure as Spidey, but Hasbro gave us a plain old sword instead here, rather than a glowing white magic one.

This is the only figure the Hopesword would ever make sense to come with, so its exclusion here rubs me the wrong way. The plain sword has a painted hilt and looks fine, but just isn’t what I wanted here. Casual collectors will likely be satisfied with the sword included.

The purple teleportation effect is small, but very appreciated. There’s no way to attach it to Kurt, but it looks fine just placed near him. It reminds me of a piece that would come in a Bandai Tamashii effects pack.

It feels petty to complain over swappable hands, but I don’t mind being petty in a review—and having 4 total right hands and a static fist left hand limits display options and annoys me. The sword gripping right hand and open right hand are essential add-ons, though.

Nightcrawler Spider-Man has a plethora of articulation, but the lack of hinged toes prevents getting him into the really deep crouching poses I was pining to get him into. There’s still plenty of fun and dynamic poses to achieve, but the obligatory left fist and omitted toe joints limit things more than I’d prefer.

—Swivel tailThere’s a minor paint flaw on my figure’s left shoulder with a little missing red paint, which is anomalous for Hasbro QC these days. I’m just going to fix it at home. The joints all feel solid and stable, although I did need to run hot water on it to bend one of the foot hinges safely. No real quality control red flags for me, though.

Overall: If I could score this figure based on personal favoritism, Marvel Legends Uncanny Spider-Man Nightcrawler would be an easy ‘A’. Looking at him objectively, he’s good, but not quite there. Only one left hand choice for a $28 figure, super-articulation that’s great but not quite enough, the totally botched Hopesword and the lack of an unmasked portrait all bug me.
The proportions are terrific and I love the head we do get, but I couldn’t quite achieve some of the poses I was looking for. A fun and must-have action figure for me, but my grading bar has been raised at the $28 price-point.
