As we prepare for cooler temps in North America, the book world is collectively preparing its TBR. Everyone, from the New York Times to TIME and other publications, has released lists full of the books coming out within the next few months that they’re excited about. And now, so has NPR.

NPR’s list includes fiction and nonfiction, with books that range from a surreal pandemic novel to a cyberpunk thriller to a memoir by legendary actor Tim Curry. Below is a sampling of the 12 books in NPR’s compilation.
